2. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to the LinGift website, user accounts, gift events, public event pages, gift reservations, emails, and related services.LinGift is available internationally in English and Spanish. Depending on your location, additional privacy rights may apply.

3. Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we may collect your first name, optional last name, email address, and authentication information. Passwords are processed and stored using Django’s password-hashing mechanisms and are not stored as readable text.

Event and gift information

Account holders may provide event titles, descriptions, dates, gift preferences, gift ideas, product links, estimated prices, notes, and images.

Reservation information

When a guest reserves a gift, LinGift stores the reservation status and generates a private management link. Guests should keep this link private because anyone who obtains it may be able to manage the reservation.

Communications

We process email addresses to send account activation and password-reset messages. These transactional emails are delivered through Twilio SendGrid.

Technical information

Our servers may process IP addresses, request timestamps, browser and device information, requested URLs, security events, and diagnostic logs.

Analytics and advertising information

With your consent, LinGift may use Google Analytics to understand website traffic and Meta Pixel to measure visits and successful account registrations.These services may process identifiers, browser and device information, approximate location, page activity, and cookie information. LinGift does not send names, email addresses, or other directly identifying account information through its configured analytics events.

4. Public and shared event content

Published events are accessible to anyone who possesses their public link or QR code. They are not private storage areas.Account holders are responsible for ensuring that they have the right and appropriate permission to publish event information, images, and information concerning other people, including minors.Avoid publishing sensitive personal information such as addresses, identification numbers, financial details, medical information, or private contact information.

5. How we use information

We use information to:

• Create and manage user accounts.
• Verify email addresses and recover accounts.
• Create, publish, share, and manage gift events.
• Display gift preferences and gift ideas to guests.
• Create and manage gift reservations.
• Prevent duplicate reservations and misuse.
• Operate, secure, maintain, and improve LinGift.
• Respond to support and privacy requests.
• Measure website usage and advertising effectiveness when consent is provided.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

7. Service providers

Cooltimedia may use service providers that process information on its behalf, including:

9. Retention

We retain account and event information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide LinGift, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and fulfill legitimate operational requirements.Public event information and reservations may remain stored while the corresponding account or event exists. Certain records may remain temporarily in backups or security logs after deletion.Users may request deletion by contacting proyectos@cooltimedia.com. Some information may be retained when required by law or necessary to protect the service and its users.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encrypted HTTPS connections, password hashing, access controls, private management tokens, and restricted administrative access.No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Users are responsible for protecting their passwords, activation links, password-reset links, public event links, and private reservation-management links.

Gift ideas may contain links to third-party stores and websites. Cooltimedia does not control their content, availability, purchases, security practices, or privacy policies. Review the third party’s terms and privacy information before providing information or completing a purchase.

14. Sale and sharing of information

Cooltimedia does not sell personal information for monetary payment.Optional advertising technologies may involve sharing technical or event information with Meta for measurement and advertising purposes. In jurisdictions where this is legally considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising, visitors may reject optional advertising cookies.
